Change For Honor Language to English from Russian, Dutch and Others

If you want to change the in-game language in For Honor PC, you have come to the right place. If you have bought For Honor from Steam or Uplay, sometimes there are chances that your game might be in the wrong language.

For a lot of buyers, this game is showing the Russian and Dutch languages in the main and in-game screens. Although some people prefer their native languages while playing PC games, a lot of us don’t.

How to Change interface and game language in For Honor PC

For Honor stores, it’s game configuration files inside the Documents folder. Since you can’t understand the interface language, the best way to adjust the game settings is via this options.ini file.

To do that, you’ll need to open this file in notepad and edit the part which sets the language to English. Let’s see how you can do that.

  • Press Windows key + R to open the Run box.
  • Type
    notepad %USERPROFILE%\Documents\my games\For Honor\options.ini
  • This will open the options.ini file in notepad on your PC.
  • Press Ctrl + F to open the Find box. Search for language. From there, edit the options as shown below.
[Language]
EnableSubtitles=true
LanguageID=1
SubtitlesID=1
VoiceLanguageID=1
 1 = English here. You can change the language in For Honor to anything you like which is supported by the game.
  • English (1)
  • French (2)
  • German (5)
  • Russian (13)
  • Simplified Chinese (7)
  • Traditional Chinese (8)
  • Korean (12)
  • Japanese (10)
  • Spanish (24)
  • Italian (9)
  • Dutch (14)

This method may or may not work for you depending on whether you have a region locked version of For Honor on your PC. Unfortunately, you can only change the language in the fully unlocked version of the game.

If you are a genuine buyer and are having problems in changing the language in the game, try contacting Ubisoft support.
