Adjust FOV in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for PC

Adjust FOV in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for PC – By default, Metal Gear Solid V doesn’t give us the option to configure FOV in the Graphics settings. You can, however, adjust it anyway. I like the option to configure FOV in my games, and these days, a lot of games are are giving the players the option to have full control over FOV.

Let’s get this straight: Fixed FOV isn’t ideal. In fact, it is downright ridiculous. Depending on how far the players are from the monitors or TV, the ideal FOV number differs. For PC games, a good range is 80 to 100. For console, it should be around 50 to 80. Do note that bigger FOV means smaller area visible to the player at a single instant.

Do note that bigger FOV means smaller area visible to the player at a single instant. Since PC players sit very close to their monitors using Keyboard and mouse, FOV needs to be a higher number. Game developers sometimes adjust games to optimize for the platform they are releasing it. But their judgment shouldn’t be taken for granted. It might look good to someone, but not to you.

This is why adjustable FOV is necessary. Metal Gear Solid V graphics settings don’t have this option, but there is a mod that allows you to configure FOV.
